Siltation problems
The build-up of silts in areas of low current velocity can be a major problem. FBS have a solution in the form of the bubble curtain. Using a synthetic sintered tube fed by low-pressure air supply, a uniform rising curtain of small bubbles can be created in the water column. This can provide a solution for:
- Prevention of silt accumulation
- Debris, weed, leaf, fish and oil deflection at cooling and raw water intakes
- Flotsam deflection at marina and harbour entrances
- Inshore oil-spill containment around tanker berths etc
- Lake and pond aeration
Air is supplied by an economical low-pressure blower, for low running costs and maintenance, and high reliability.
